Marguerite Hughes and Sue Gillon

Marguerite Hughes and Sue Gillon work together to present lively interesting talks/demonstrations.

All the talks are interactive because Marguerite brings cut material from her garden and Sue brings plants from her private nursery Meadow View Plants to illustrate & complement the talk. The nature of these talks make a refreshing change from slides and power point talks.

Marguerite is an experienced garden lecturer, she teaches gardening to several groups every week around the Southport and Preston area as well as arranging gardening trips and designing gardens for individual clients. Her knowledge and sense of fun make gardening talks a real treat.

Sue set up her small private nursery about 10 years ago when relinquished a career as a primary school teacher although she has grown plants and sold them from her garden gate for over 25 years. In 2007 she exchanged nurturing children for nurturing plants and has never looked back. Sue is passionate about the plants she grows and always tries to bring new and unusual plants to the talks and plant fairs she attends throughout the year. All her plants are grown and potted on in peat free compost.
